Just Falafel, the largest falafel chain in the world, has appointed consultant head chef Gerard Murphy, from visionary Gourmet, to extend the UK menu with a selection of light meals solutions.
Murphy's role will focus on introducing a series of new fresh, nutritious salads and create a wide range of mini-wraps and lighter sandwich to offer lower calorie meals options for health-conscious consumers, which will be available in the store from July 2013. Murphy will also be leading the charge on the revision of the current menu and update existing recipes. In addition, his role will involve the development of a range of a healthy desserts and breakfast, was due to start in October 2013.
Murphy brings with him over 30 years of experience as a classically trained chef within the global food industry, working across independent and franchise restaurants and gastro pubs and wider food service companies. He was a former food development and program chef at Kerry Foodservice, create and develop menus for a global customer base, with greater experience working for restaurant chains including little chef and Harry Ramsden.
