Get your taste buds ready. Salsarita’s, the Fresh Mexican Cantina with locations across the U.S., is adding a new burrito to its menu for a limited time only. The Chimichurri Fajita Burrito will launch in all Salsarita’s restaurants on Monday, March 25. As part of the promotion, guests will receive plantable herb seed-infused paper with each Chimichurri Fajita Burrito purchase (quantities are limited). Salsarita’s encourages guests to plant their own herb garden and fashion their own craveable, bold flavors at home.
The new burrito presents a unique twist on chimichurri, a classic Argentinean sauce. Salsarita’s special recipe uses cilantro and roasted poblano peppers as a base instead of the traditional parsley, along with white vinegar, olive oil, garlic, red onions and lime juice. The result is a fresh, bold flavor that perfectly rounds out a classic burrito, and tastes great with any of Salsarita’s tasty protein options. Guests can also order chimichurri as an alternative to Salsarita’s many flavorful salsa varieties. It offers a tangy complement to salads, tacos and other dishes, and pairs exceptionally well with the grilled-to-perfection Fajita Vegetables, which can be added to any dish.
“We’re thrilled to unveil the new Chimichurri Fajita Burrito,” said Salsarita’s CEO Phil Friedman. “The flavor profile is bold and exciting – it’s our own take on a classic recipe, reflecting our ability to take inspiration from both traditional and modern influences to create something totally unexpected and absolutely delicious.” Founded in 2000 in Charlotte, N.C., Salsarita’s offers Mexican favorites such as signature Casaritos®, Mexican pizza-inspired Cantizzas®, and an assortment of tacos, quesadillas and nachos made fresh to order with an extensive selection of proteins, toppings and fillings, as well as six flavorful house-made salsas. The company has more than 80 franchised locations in 19 states. Two restaurants are company-owned. Salsarita’s expects to have at least 10 new restaurants and 4-6 franchise agreements signed before the end of 2013, with long-range projections calling for over 300 locations nationwide over the next several years.
